The Civic, built in 1941, was purchased in 1980 by Eric and Ervin Steiner, who split it into three screens in 1981. The theater closed in November 1984, with "Basket Case", "Gremlins", and "The Wild Life" as the last titles on the marquee. The Civic went on to become a furniture store.
