Information for this tour was contributed by Darren Snow. The Bard Theater was in some ways ahead of its time; its original bold decor suggested motifs that would become popular in the '60s and '70s. Designed by local architect F.T. Winnenberg, the theater was built for $95,000 by owner Chris Thodis, and operated by Louis Weithe. Featured in the 1942 "Theater Catalog," the Bard seated 1,018 and sported a marquee by Neon Art Signs.
