Information for this tour was contributed by Darren Snow. This neighborhood theater on St. Louis' south side was built in 1910 in the crook of a Y-shaped intersection. The oddly-shaped lot allowed for a small, round lobby and an auditorium that fanned out in size from the rear to the stage. The Virginia was, for years, part of the local Wehrenberg chain, and when business trickled out in 1956, it began closing on Mondays, and finally shut down for good on May 12. The final bill offered Loop Hole and Bowery to Bagdad.
