Information for this tour was contributed by Martin Hart. The seating capacity of this theatre was around 900. It included a rather small balcony. The theatre opened in 1963 with the local premiere of The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm. A virtually identical theatre was built in New Orleans which was demolished in 2002.
The three projection booths were built into the side walls and underneath the balcony. They were connected with corridors. In approximately 1967-1968, the theatre became the Trans-Lux Cinerama.
