A 9/9/1971 article in The Daily Oklahoman reported that a storm damage forced Spectro Theatres to close this theatre, deeming repairs too costly. The article stated that the site was already marked for clearing and was just awaiting Spectro's decision to close. The last film was "Fortune In Men's Eyes" The same article recounted the theatre's 1936 opening with "It Happened One Night"
