Information for this tour was contributed by Darren Snow and Bob Meza. Built as Heinley's Grand Opera House in 1884, the 900-seat Fischer became a movie house and closed just shy of its hundredth birthday. Famous hometowners Gene Hackman, Bobby Short, Donald O'Connor, and Dick and Jerry Van Dyke helped raise money for the Fischer's restoration in summer 1988.
