Information for this tour was contributed by Kyle Muldrow. The Chesterfield Mall 4 was opened in 1978 by General Cinema. In 1989, Saint Louis-based Wehrenberg Theatres bought out the remaining GCC theatres in the Saint Louis area (Chesterfield Mall 4, Sunset Hills 4, Northwest Plaza 4 and Jamestown Mall Twin). Wehrenberg eventually closed the Sunset Hills and built new theatres at Jamestown Mall and Northwest Plaza, but continued to operate the Chesterfield Mall Cinema in its original building until 2000, when it closed the theater due to financial difficulties.
