Information for this tour was contributed by Klaus Weber. The Tivoli was built in the 1920s as an extension in an existing gastronomy- and dancehall-enterprise . The extraordinary size (for this time) caused many citizians of Bremen to visit this location in the workers-municipality of Hemelingen, which was still independent. During a battle between Communists and Nazis an SA-fighter died inside the complex in 1928. The building survived war without major damage and had a successful time during the 1950s movie-boom. But in 1975, the suburbia movie-house was no longer profitable. Marga Luers, the last owner of this family-business, had to close. Since 1977, a music club has occupied the building.
