Information for this tour was contributed by Ken Roe. The building was erected in 1888 as a Drill Hall for the volunteer Hampstead Regiment. It was converted into the Everyman Theatre in 1920 presenting stage plays by new writers. In 1933 it was converted to the Everyman Cinema, screening Art House movies, a tradition it has kept to the present day.
