Information for this tour was contributed by Andrew Foot. The Walkerville was designed by C. Howard Crane, famous theater architect, in 1918. Construction began Feb. 1, 1920. It is located on Wyandotte St. between Lincoln and Gladstone. At the time, the border for the city of Windsor and the Town of Walkerville ran right down the middle of the theater. It was a live theater hosting vaudeville, and later movies. In August 1930, it was renamed the Tivoli Theater, until its closing in 1963. It was later used a Bingo Hall, and then renovated in the 2000s. Photos Photos remain the property of the Member and may not be reproduced without the written consent of the Member. |
