Information for this tour was contributed by Ron Keillor. The Park Royal Cinemas in West Vancouver closed to the public in 1999. The second-run Caprice chain went bankrupt that year, closing all of their theatres. This location was operated by the Park Royal Shopping Center management for a few months before shutting down. It is now used as an audio post-production facility for movies and a sound mixing stage. The #3 theatre is still in original condition and is rented out for private screenings and movie-industry functions.
When it first opened, it had only 2 screens, the first seating 760 and the second seating 441. This was the only 70mm equipped theatre outside of downtown Vancouver, and possibly the first 70mm in the city. In 1980 the #1 screen was split, making two narrow theatres of 364 and 348 seats respectively. The 70mm equipment was removed at this time. Famous Players closed the Park Royal theatres in 1993, and they sat unused until Caprice took them over in 1997. They were demolished early in 2003 to make way for an expansion of the Park Royal Mall. There are now no movie theatres in West Vancouver.
