Information for this tour was contributed by Ken Roe. The Rivoli was built as a replacement to another Rivoli, located on nearby 570 Burke Rd, Camberwell which operated from 1921 to 1940 and had 2,200 seats. The new Rivoli has always been referred to as the Rivoli, Camberwell as that is the name of the district it is located in. In 1967 it was twinned and it had a reduced seating capacity of 679 and 400. A new building was constructed to the right of the original cinema in 1999 and the new Rivoli 8 screen cinemas opened in May 2000, which includes the refurbished original building. It it listed on the National Trust Historic Register of buildings.
