On October 5, 2006, Cinemark acquired 77 locations from Century Theatres of San Rafael, California, and assumed rights to all Century Theatres and CineArts brand names. Syufy Enterprises retained ownership of its drive-ins and public markets under the West Wind name as well as management of three theatres in San Jose, California, for Cinemark.

Century acquired Pacific Theatres' Marin County California holdings in November 2001.
